| 1. What is e-learning? |
E- Learning is a term used to denote the technological innovations which help in facilitating the learning process. In this world of computerized technology, it is natural that learning will also benefit by becoming more dynamic and interactive. E-Learning refers learning through the Internet, in a general perspective, and is learning by using technology, in a broader perspective. |
| 2. What is E- Tutoring? |
E-Tutoring is real time teaching through the internet. The student and teacher interact in a virtual classroom or use other assessment tools. |
| 3. How does it work? |
It is of two types: Synchronous and asynchronous:
Synchronous
The student logs on to a computer from his or her home. At the same time, the tutor logs on to another computer from his or her office or home. Once logged on, the session starts. This is a virtual classroom, and it can either be a one-to-one or one-to-many session. The tutor and the student can talk to each other. The student can ask questions and the tutor can give instructions. They can also see each other on their computer screens. However, viewing each other is optional. While in session, both the tutor and the student have access to a variety of tools.
First and foremost, there is a white board on which both the tutor and the student can ‘write’ at the same time. “Writing’ implies both typed text and free hand writing technology where whatever the tutor or the student writes appears on both their computers. They can also draw pictures like a triangle or a circle or a laboratory apparatus with much better precision than on a regular blackboard, in a class room. And what is more, there is a complete Math tool kit available.
Asynchronous
The student asks questions at whatever time questions rise in his or her mind. The tutor checks out those questions, answers them all, giving detailed explanations. The student logs on to view the answers and explanations, later. The tutor gives assignments, which the student completes, at a later time. |

Compulsory question can be asked from any of the chapters. It’s not good to stick on to those single lesson. As per the reference from past papers , high priority is given for Taxonomy and Immunology. But it’s not sure , that always compulsory question will be asked from those two chapters. |
